After years of being neglected by the Grammys, Hip-Hop is not only being celebrated by the Grammy Foundation this year but the new book Hip Hop: A Cultural Odyssey will be featured in an exhibit at the Grammy Museum. The book has more than 400 pages that includes exclusive interviews and pictures with Hip-Hop’s most influential pioneers, trend-setters and icons who recall the evolution of Hip-Hop over the last 40 years. Publisher Jordan Sommers made the following statement:
There was a realization that there was a huge void in the market for a book like this. Coffee table books are usually associated with iconic subjects, culturally significant events or impactful movements, and hip-hop culture is all of the above. I thought the time was right to do a book that has the size, scope, depth, quality and significance as the culture itself.
