In the first part of our interview with Dru Ha, we discuss the early days of Duck Down records. Dru talks about how the label developed and how they’ve been able to maintain their success. Dru credits the fact that Duck Down never blew up as a label, as a reason they’ve been able to stay relevant for so many years.
In Part 2, we talk about the rise of Sean Price. Dru explains how Sean reinvented himself and how he began to get the recognition that he has today. Dru then explains that the same format of promotion for most artists, wasn’t exactly what Duck Down had to do to develop Sean Price.

This was a NICE piece! Duck Down is still, in my opinion, one of the most relevant indies still in the game. They shift with the times but keep it “Hip Hop” all the while. Great job. GOD BLESS
It sounds like Duck Down found it’s niche.
Dru is my motha effin man! He’s always been one of the most underrated music execs in the biz. Dude has always had a tight grip on an important niche of music. Now that the playing field is getting more level than ever when it comes to major vs. indie capabilities I expect him to shine even brighter.
